Partner Feature: Kitchen 218 and Corner Pit BBQ - A Tale of Resilience and Reinvention

In the heart of South Central Tennessee in Giles County, lies a culinary duo unlike any other – Kitchen 218 and Corner Pit BBQ. Owned and operated by the visionary entrepreneur Jake Pfeiffer, these two establishments share a rich history of family heritage, resilience, and unwavering dedication to serving up unforgettable dining experiences.

Corner Pit BBQ: A Legacy of Tradition and Tenacity

Established in 1965, Corner Pit BBQ holds a special place in the hearts of locals and visitors alike. For over five decades, it has been a beloved fixture in Dellrose,  serving up mouthwatering barbecue classics and timeless Southern hospitality. Despite facing adversity, including seven devastating fires throughout its history, the Pfeiffer family has remained steadfast in their commitment to preserving and nurturing this cherished institution.

In 2008, Jake Pfeiffer and his family assumed ownership of Corner Pit BBQ, becoming the fourth family to proudly carry on its legacy. Despite the challenges they faced, their resilience and determination never wavered. However, in a bold move to pursue his culinary passions and carve out his own path, Jake made the decision to branch out and establish his own venture – Kitchen 218.

Kitchen 218: A Culinary Haven in Downtown Pulaski

In 2022, Kitchen 218 emerged onto the culinary scene of Pulaski with a bang. Housed in a historic building in downtown Pulaski, this full-service gastropub quickly captured the hearts and taste buds of locals and visitors alike. Specializing in locally sourced burgers, wings, and flatbreads, Kitchen 218 offers a tantalizing array of flavors and a warm, inviting atmosphere that keeps guests coming back for more.

But Kitchen 218 is more than just a restaurant – it's a hub of creativity and community engagement. With the addition of Venue 220, a second-story live music venue, Jake Pfeiffer has transformed Kitchen 218 into a cultural epicenter, where live music, delicious food, and good company converge to create unforgettable memories.

The Interconnected Journey of Jake Pfeiffer

While Kitchen 218 flourished, Jake's journey as a restaurateur came full circle when he made the decision to reunite with his family's legacy and expand the Corner Pit BBQ empire. In 2023, Jake bought out his parents' share of Corner Pit BBQ and opened a second location, breathing new life into the beloved barbecue joint and solidifying its place as a cornerstone of Pulaski's culinary scene.

Today, Kitchen 218 and Corner Pit BBQ stand as testaments to the power of resilience, reinvention, and the enduring bonds of family. Jake Pfeiffer's entrepreneurial spirit and unwavering commitment to excellence have not only revitalized two culinary institutions but have also helped to shape the vibrant culinary landscape of South Central Tennessee.
